Visa arrangement

 

There are two options to get your North Korean visa: in the country of your residence (in case there's a DPRK Embassy there) or in Beijing before departure to Pyongyang.

How to get DPRK visa in your country

It's possible only if your resident country has a North Korean diplomatic mission or Embassy. If you want to apply for a visa please follow these steps:

1. Download, fill in carefully and send us by e-mail (to info@korea-discovery.com) this application form at least 4 weeks before the date of your trip. 

2. To proceed visa arranging deposit (50% of the tour cost) is required. You should send it by bank transfer according to invoice we will issue.

3. When your visa will be approved by the North Korean authorities, we will inform you. To obtain the visa you should contact your North Korean diplomatic mission/Embassy and pick up it in person or it is possible to send the passport by registered mail.

 Do not forget please to pick up your visa at the Embassy you have to bring following documents with you:

a). your passport (check please it's validity, it must be minimum 6 months after DPRK trip)                                                             b). 2 colored passport size photos                                               c). filled in and signed visa issue form (items 10,13,14,15,16c are filled in already for your convenience, item 17 you should fill in only if children under 18 years old accompany you).

Visa fee is not in the tour cost. You will be informed by DPRK Embassy about the charge amount, it is very various depending on the countries.  

How to get your visa in Beijing

If you want to get North Korean visa in Beijing please follow these steps:    

1. Download, fill in carefully and send us by e-mail (to info@korea-discovery.com) this application form at least 4 weeks before the date of your trip.

2. Also you need to send us by e-mail (to info@korea-discovery.com) following papers:

a). passport size colored photo (no more than six month old) as JPEG file
b). copy of your passport (only photo page) in original colors as JPEG file
c). downloaded, filled in carefully and signed  visa issue form  (items 10,13,14,15,16c are filled in already for your convenience, item 17 you should fill in only if children under 18 years old accompany you). Please complete visa issue form and send us as Word document.

3. To proceed visa arranging deposit (50% of the tour cost) is required. You should send it by bank transfer according to invoice we will issue.

4. When your visa will be approved by the North Korean authorities, we will contact you and give the instruction how you can pick it up before departure to North Korea (usually 1-2 days prior the tour start).

Visa fee is not in the tour cost. DPRK visa fee in Beijing is 35 EUR. 

DPRK visa never stamped into your passport in Beijing,but issued like separate document.

Important!

1). To get DPRK visa in Beijing you have to arrive there at least one day before leaving to North Korea.

2). Check please your passport validity before travel, it must be minimum 6 months after end of DPRK trip.
3). If you go to DPRK via China you will be required  to obtain a double-entry Chinese visa. Please contact the Chinese Embassy in your country of residence for that. If you book your DPRK tour with our company we will provide you by official confirmation letter to ensure obtaining your double-entry Chinese visa.

It is possible for the Chinese Embassy in Pyongyang to issue a tourist re-entry visa if you have difficulties to get it before trip (don’t forget to take 2 passport photos). 

We do not arrange tours for citizens of Republic of Korea (South Korea).

Attention! According to DPRK law for professional journalists and photographers (full or part-time) traveling to North Korea with tourist visas is prohibited. They have to obtain special permission.            We do not arrange it.
