How to get to North Korea?

The majority of foreigners are traveling to North Korea via China. The North Korean national airline Air Koryo (JS) has three regular flights per week linking Beijing and Pyongyang and two flights from Shenyang. Chinese air company Air China (CA) started to operate three regular weekly flights Beijing-Pyongyang from 31 March, 2008. It is also possible to travel between Beijing and Pyongyang by train.

You can choose also the regular Air Koryo flight to Pyongyang from Vladivostok (Russia) by Thursdays or weeklong train trip from Moscow by Trans-Siberian railway (through Zabajkalsk).

Regardless of your nationality you will be required to obtain a double-entry Chinese visa if you want to get to the DPRK via China. Please contact the Chinese Embassy in your country of residence to find out more.
